4 Ways to Help Manage Stress

We all have busy lives, as business people, parents, husband/wives, employees and friends!

In the smart phone era we are expected to be available 24/7 to everyone. No wonder we all feel stressed out! What is the solution? Self-care – we need to take care of ourselves to be at our best for everyone else. I have included my top tips to manage stress below.

Exercise

I know the personal trainer telling me to exercise. But honestly exercise is the biggest stress reliever for me and science has soon us that as little as 20-30 minutes can boost your mood. The next time you are feeling stressed go for a quick walk or do a deadlift (just kidding – kind of), you will feel better I promise!

Sleep Well

Sleep is very important for living a healthy life. If you don’t get enough, you’ll be tired, irritable and unproductive. Being irritable and unproductive leads to more stress. That stress makes you even more tired and.. well, you see the pattern.

Avoid Caffeine

Caffeine is socially accepted as a normal thing to consume. This ignores the fact that it’s still a powerful stimulant. A regular intake of caffeine adds to the stress on your bodily systems. It’s best to avoid caffeine altogether when returning your body to a natural state. Once in a good place, it’s still a good idea to limit caffeine intake.

Be More Organized

Making simple adjustments can help elevate stress. Laying out your clothes the night before, making sure your lunch is packed and the kids bags are ready. Reviewing your schedule the night before can also help alleviate stress the next day – you will know what you have to do and where you have to go. Making these simple adjustment will help you become more organized.
