When I came to Christa to talk about the type of services that she offered, I was emotionally and physically tired.

I had been to the ‘Y’ but I didn’t feel like being in that environment again. I needed more accountability.

In addition to needing help with exercise, I also needed clarification about food. I felt very confused by all the mixed messages regarding how much, what, and when to eat. I was also confused about vitamin supplements. Were they necessary?

It was time for action! My goal wasn’t skinny but healthy and strong.

So I sent that first message, had a visit to see Christa’s facility, and have been working with her for almost 3 months now. I am so glad that I made that decision!  I enjoy the one on one; I feel safe and I am accountable to show up and do the work!  The truth is, I don’t always love working out but Christa tailors the workouts for me and she is constantly changing the routine.  She makes it fun!

Three months later and I have more energy; I am much more educated about what I eat and how food affects me (I’m excited to have learned that I can and should eat some carbs!) I also feel I have been properly informed about what vitamins I should be taking.

Christa is vulnerable and authentic; she is knowledgeable; I highly recommend her as a trainer and coach.

“Like many others, I have struggled with my weight and fitness level for a long time. I have a demanding career and a long commute. I also have four kids on four different hockey teams, two of which I coach. I always had a reason to not exercise; I was too tired; I didn’t have enough time that day; I had other competing priorities; and so on, and so forth. To make it worse, I was lazy with my eating habits, and I would eat what was easy rather than what was good for me. In the end, I was simply making excuses instead of making my health and fitness a priority.

About 6 months ago, my wife and I decided that we needed someone to help us meet our lifestyle goals. Though a friend, we were introduced to Christa.

“I am a 57 year old; five foot nothing, wife and mother of a teenage boy and one female fur baby. I have had my fair share of life challenges including excessive weight gain.

My ballooning belly and bouncing back fat started creeping on when I stopped teaching fitness classes in Toronto after back surgery, divorced my first husband, met and moved in with my future second husband and laid to rest my first son when he was 3 ½. This tragic loss led me to taking antidepressants for 15+ years.

After marrying for the second time, we adopted our son when he was 2 ½ and moved to Grimsby. I could not get any work and was turning 50 years old…..hello menopause, need I say more. I packed on more pounds and was unemployed and very depressed.

In the summer of 2013, I started selling Norwex. This involved home parties. One party rolled into another and before I knew it, I would have a show for Christa. I truly believe our meeting was meant to be. Not only did Christa hold my biggest party ever I also discovered she was a personal trainer. This is where my journey began.

I started training with Christa twice a week. She is very intuitive, knows exactly what I need physically, and mentally, and steers me in the right direction. She always surprises me with new workouts every visit and increases intensities only when she knows I can handle it. She knows when to be easy on me and knows when to push. Two years ago, my mom passed away and Christa was very respectful of the difficulties I faced at that time and the classes I had to miss.

When I finally decided to start loosing weight, something my mom always wanted me to do; Christa was there for me again. Giving me a meal plan designed just for me. I achieved my goal of losing the weight and inches I set out to do in Oct 2018. I have also completely gone off my medications. This is all with a big thanks from Christa for believing in me and giving me the push that I so desperately needed. ”

In the beginning my goals with Christa and training in general were short term goals. I had a trip coming up and I wanted to shed some pounds beforehand.  Little did I know that I was about to go through an entire lifestyle change.  Christa has not only transformed my body but she has given me a better outlook on what it means to live a healthy life.  Christa creates workouts that best suit the goals I’m trying to attain and she shares her knowledge willingly to help me continue my weight loss journey on the days I’m working out at home.  The road to reaching my goals hasn’t been easy, and I have some ways to go still, but it has definitely been worth all the time and energy I’ve put in to it. I have been a member of Goodlife gyms for a few years now and I have been working with Christa for a few months. Having Christa by my side has made a huge difference in my workouts and my results. My husband and I have been trying to focus on weight loss and general health for a long time.  We had gym memberships which we would start with gusto, then fade and eventually cancel.  We made firm resolutions and quickly faded with life’s heavy to-do lists.  (We have kids and two very busy careers.)  In other words, we had the best of intentions but our intentions didn’t carry us to our goals.

I got Christa’s name from a friend.  Best referral EVER!  I’ve never used a personal trainer and I’m not athletic (at all!), so I was nervous; however, she was awesome from first phone call.   Christa began working with us once a week.  Steadily and consistently we have been working with her and we are both seeing results.  We are feeling stronger, better, in control and yes..we are dropping weight!  Christa never judges or criticizes but, instead, perfectly blends encouragement and accountability.   Somehow she can call you out, yet you always know she’s in your corner, fighting for you to achieve your goals.

The time we spend with her is effective and efficient.  We get a lot done in one hour, a lot more than we did by ourselves with double that time at a gym.  Also, because my husband and I do it together, it’s a journey that we share as a couple.
